What if you can not dance!

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

Let’s introduce this beautiful dance and music to those yet to discover its magic. Tango is an improvised dance, so no two dances will ever be the same. Usually, a couple dances together for a "tanda". A tanda is a set of 3 or 4 songs of a similar style (tango, vals, milonga) or by the same orchestra. Tango can be danced to Tango music, Vals music or Milonga rhythm.

"I'd be a little afraid" but "No mistakes in the Tango, not like life. Simple, that's what makes the Tango so great. You make a mistake, get all tangled up, just Tango on."

If you feel like learning tango there are a number of options in Brisbane (see a list of schools below). We always strive to invite all teachers we know to our events to give the community and new dancers an opportunity to meet their future mentors.

We believe that the best way to learn is to try out different styles of teaching and dance with as many people as possible. Teachers will help you build your own frame to understand the dance and support your learning by enhancing your community experience.

For everything Tango in Brisbane you can always refer to:

Is this list exhaustive? No, and if we have forgotten anyone please feel free to add in the comments below. We continuously get asked where to learn and this is a good starting point.
