Festival Workshops

Eight exceptional maestros are coming from all corners of the world to teach #tango during the Moonlight Tango Festival 2023 in July (23rd-30th).


We have selected this team of teachers to offer you diversity of methodology and high quality of tango. Each of these teaching couples has decades of experience doing workshops around the world.


All workshops are capped to 20 couples and will be held in Element Collective Venue (ECV) a wonderful dance studio in the heart of Fortitude Valley in Brisbane (17 McLachlan St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006). Easiest place to park is at Secure Parking on Brunswick Street, which can be pre-booked. The closest and most comfortable place to stay is The Miro Apartments (quote TANGO for a special discount).

Cynthia Palacios & Sebastián Bolivar

Normally based in Buenos Aires, Cynthia & Sebastian travel the world to teach tango. They are the Tango World Champions 2022. Cynthia & Sebastian will be teaching at the beginning of the Festival and participate with Tango Bardo with a performance at the University of Queensland.

Cynthia and Sebastian will be performing to the live music of Tango Bardo at the UQ Concert on Sunday 23 | Jul starting at 15:00 at the GHD Auditorium University of Queensland St Lucia | tickets​


 

Rina & Nadim Sawaya

Teaching and organising milongas in Melbourne, they travel Australia to teach #tango as Tango Esencia. They often come to Brisbane to build on tango concepts. Rina and Nadim will also tailor their classes to beginners to facilitate more people joining the tango community and enjoying the Festival.

They will be performing at the Welcome Milonga and the Gala Milonga.


 

Lorena Tarantino & Gianpiero Galdi

Normally based in Turin (Italy), Gianpiero & Lorena have been travelling the world to teach tango at festivals and more.

Vanesa Villalba & Facundo Piñero

Amongst the most well known tango maestros in the world, they travel the world and have a dance studio in Buenos Aires.
