Delicious food and amazing artists gathering for your in King George Square on Saturday July 29th from 10am to 6pm to celebrate Latin Culture.
Amongst these great chefs Little Caracas!
Little Caracas was created by Venezuelan and Australian team, chef German and his fiancée Kaylani, to share German’s passion for food and his love for his country, Venezuela. Caracas is the capital city of Venezuela, where German grew up and began his culinary career. After working in Barcelona, New York, Miami and many restaurants in Brisbane, German decided it were time to share his beloved, Venezuelan cuisine with the people of Australia.
Arepas are a staple food item in Venezuela and eaten with most meals. They are a cornmeal bread that you slice open and stuff with your favourite foods, such as meats, cheeses, vegetables and plantains. Our most popular item is Arepa Pabellon which is stuffed with pulled wagyu beef, fetta, black beans and plantain and topped with our signature guasacaca sauce.
All items are handmade by German, including the dough and sauce! Most items are, or can be, gluten and dairy free to suit most dietary requirements. For anyone familiar with Latin cuisine, we also offer Tres Leches, Bunuelos, Chicha Venezolana and a variety of arepa flavours.
The arepa is an icon in Latin culture and eaten in Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Panama. They are also very similar to the pupusa in El Salvador and Honduras, the gordita in Mexico and the tortilla de maiz in Ecuador. Arepas are the cornerstone of a Latin American diet.
