About the Event
Bask in the warmth of the first Moonlight Tango Winter Festival in Brisbane on the weekend of 12-14th August 2022. An unforgettable celebration of tango culture with 3 milongas in the Brisbane City Hall and our After Party Milonga at the beautiful Argentinean Evita Restaurant.
Be swept away by live tango music with exclusive performances by the Brisbane Tango Orquesta at the Gala Milonga. Our signature live music cortinas will feature at our After Party. Beloved DJs - Jose (Melbourne), Anthony (Sydney) and Wendy (Brisbane) – will keep you dancing all night. Tango performances from internationally recognised teachers, Nadim and Rina Sawaya (Melbourne) & Jose and May (Brisbane).
Come a day early for special tango classes by Brisbane maestros Rosemary and Greg (e-Tango, Brisbane). Workshops and classes across the weekend with Rina & Nadim (Melbourne) and Jose & May (Brisbane).
Dance and socialise with friends from around Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
As dancers we understand how much more pleasant balanced milongas are and so for your dancing enjoyment we want to achieve a good balance of leaders and followers at the festival. Therefore, we are staggering the release of tickets. Our couple tickets will go on sale first, then single leaders and single followers. If you are not currently in a dancing couple, and don’t want to wait until the single tickets go on sale, then find a leader or follower and purchase the couple ticket now. There’s a special rate for couple tickets during the first 2 weeks.
